Heat pump water heaters (HPWH)

A heat pump water heater (HPWH) is a monobloc heat pump for domestic hot water (DHW) production which is situated within the thermal envelope and which uses the indoor air as a heat source. HPWHs cool the indoor air, which results in an increase of the heating demand. This increase must be taken into account when calculating the efficiency of DHW production by a HPWH. Correspondingly, the cooling demand or the overheating frequency are reduced. This Tool relates to HPWHs installed in residential buildings.
