Research Group 60 - Energy efficiency and CO2 emissions over the life cycle - Part 2

Research Group 60 is the continuation of Research Group 58 on the topic of “gray energy” and associated CO₂ emissions, this time in the broader context of overall building concepts. It provides exciting insights and answers key questions about how we can drastically reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions in the life cycle of buildings—and what role manufacturing energy plays in this: How can renewable raw materials such as wood and straw bales be used sustainably—and what about solid construction? What (subsidy) options are available for modernization, and how can used building materials be used effectively? What influence does the choice of windows, but also building technology, have on the overall energy efficiency and CO2 balance of a building over its life cycle? Discover innovative solutions, tried-and-tested methods, and sound recommendations for making existing buildings climate-friendly and actively promoting the energy transition.

The working group not only offers valuable insights, but is also supplemented by two practical, free online tools: the MEETonline building component comparison and the building life cycle assessment calculator. Try it out for yourself to see how different building component structures and building components affect energy
