The Heat Pump Tool for PHPP 9 is intended to be used only with air-to-air heat pumps. The tool version for PHPP 10 can process air-to-water heat pumps and ground source heat pumps (heating only) as well.

It derives the COP (heating) and EER (cooling) test points from the available manufacturer data (e.g. HSPF/SCOP or SEER). The test points can be entered in PHPP.
