The children were thrilled: Building a house means action! The grandparents were skeptical, but supportive.
Some experts, however, published papers claiming that the passive house could never work. Wolfgang Feist remained undeterred: “It was immediately clear that a house could be made more energy-efficient.”
The Passive House pioneer talks about the construction of the world’s first Passive House in Darmstadt, where he still lives with his family today.
